Public Safety is one of my top priorities for Santa Ana. The latest Santa Ana crime report has robberies and assaults skyrocketing in our city. We need to make sure our police department has the tools they need to do their job to protect our neighborhoods. At a time when others want to defund the police, we should be talking about additional investments in public safety.

For too long, other Orange County cities have been bussing their homeless populations to Santa Ana, significantly impacting our quality of life in our parks, streets, and neighborhoods. I commit to working with other cities to ensure they are doing their part to manage their own homeless populations with compassion while respecting our city at the same time. Recent national changes in homeless policy mean that we can clean up encampments and get individuals into treatment and shelters immediately.

Santa Ana has one of the highest sales taxes in Orange County. It’s not sustainable for the city to keep returning to the voters to ask for more money without making budgetary decisions to reduce spending. The City Council is also deciding to give themselves a significant raise! I will not support any raises for elected officials during my time on the City Council.
